Which Golf Battery?
You now have a wide range of golf trolley batteries to choose from: lead-acid, hybrid-gel, gel and now lithium golf batteries depending on the quality of performance you require. Standard lead-acid golf batteries are the cheapest and are fine for the occasional golfer whilst the new lithium golf batteries can offer superb performance for the regular golfer looking for the best golf battery there is.
Between these two extremes you will find the Hybrid-gel battery a superb alternative to the standard lead-acid golf battery offering the benefits of lead-acid and gel whilst the superior gel battery gives longer life and copes with temperature extremes much better.
There are basically three sizes of battery to chose from and two types of connector. The first group are the 17Ah to 22Ah batteries suitable for most lightweight trolleys, the second group are the 24Ah to 28Ah golf batteries for the heavy duty trolleys and the third are the 33Ah to 36Ah batteries for 36 holes. As of 2010 there is now a lithium battery equivalent to all of these which are lighter, smaller and last five or six times longer!
Connectors come in two types. The T-Bar or interconnect fitting suitable for Powakaddy® trolleys and a Torberry cable suitable for all the rest.
